I realize I shared my story about Iyanya stopping in Raleigh-Durham to give us a time to remember, but there is an entire string of concerts that I've had the pleasure of experiencing this year. As the summer winds down and due to having more video footage than I know what to do with, I am here today to share! Keep scrolling to see snippets of live performances from stars, such as Wande Coal, The Internet, Bobby V., 112, Todrick Hall and even BEYONCE!
Also, I've listed FIVE reasons why LIVE music and shows are everything. Enjoy!

5. FACE-TO-FACE INTERACTION & APPRECIATION

Where to start... maybe where I left off? Farotage Lounge, which has hosted a number of international artists this year, such as Timaya, Wande Coal, and as you might have read and learned prior to this post- IYANYA! Live performances are a chance appreciate the art and interact with your favorite musicians face-to-face in ways you would not get to on a regular basis. Check out bits of Wande Coal's live performance in Raleigh below. It was a good time.

4. A WAY TO SUPPORT GOOD MUSIC

Then there was the soulfully sensational group known as The Internet. I attended my first Art of Cool event this year and was so happy to see the headline show.  Watch bits of their performance below!

3. A CHANCE TO TRAVEL BACKWARDS IN TIME AND HAVE YOUR EARS BLESSED

There is something about the way hearing a song you've jammed to over and over again, whether it be at a family gathering or in the car while listening to the radio, LIVE and in person makes you feel.  Below, 112 and Bobby V. show 2016 Bimbe Festival attendees just what a feeling it is. Watch the video below for clips of their performances!

2. THE FEELING YOU GET WHEN YOU'RE IN THE PRESENCE OF GREATNESS...

TODRICK. HALL. IN THE FREAKING FLESH!!! As much as I wanted to ask who does his special effects/make up while he's on tour, about the process of making his visual album, and so much more... I saw him and after I heard, "I LOVE YOUR HAIR," come out of his mouth, I lost it! Blanked. Froze. Fan girl moment. I didn't even know how I wanted us to pose in the picture above, so when he suggested an easy "prom pose" I simply went with it; lol. Love him. Check out clips from his show, STRAIGHT OUTTA OZ below! It was an amazing show and experience. The feeling alone is unforgettable. I seriously relive at least once almost every day. Thankful for the awesome memories. Moment for life!

1. THE ELECTRIC ENERGY & INSPIRATION THAT MOVES THROUGH YOU FROM ALL THE SLAYAGE

If you noticed anyone walking around this year with missing edges, they probably lost them while attending Beyonce's Formation World Tour. That is all I have to say. The QUEEN gave us life on May 3, 2016 when she blessed NC State's Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC. There was NO way I was missing her show right here on home turf. I'm so glad I went. It was the first time I saw Beyonce in concert (and was in the Beyhive Stage) and you can see some of how that went in the photos and video below, lol. Enjoy!

For the people that tell me they've never been to a concert, I normally look at them waiting for them to tell me they are just kidding.  I don't understand how people can't love live shows and music as much as I do, but it's OK! I hope these five reasons gave you a reason to check out some live entertainment near you in the future. Take care and thanks for reading!
