Until the first week of December that is! Cow Parade NC is in the Triangle from August 19th to December 7th. See http://cowparadenc.com/ for more information! Before my weekend meet up with the Triangle Sketch Crawl group, I drove around (a little lost) looking for the Farmer's Market. In front of a Wells Fargo at University Mall, I spotted a cow and immediately drove over to get a photo of it. Surprisingly, this was not my first time seeing a painted cow.
Exactly a month ago today, I attended the Round Up at Golden Belt in Durham, NC with a great friend,, Photographer Johnny Jones. There, we met many artists that embellished these cows, saw 70+ cows, and had a good ol' time! About a week after this, I was leaving work and noticed a herd near our parking garage. I was so shocked, and realized I should have paid more attention to the brochure distributed at the Round Up, which contained maps of the cows' future locations. That way I would have noticed the eleven cows are less than five minutes from my workplace. I took individual pictures of the cows on my phone that day while leaving work. Fast forwarding to this morning- while sending an email to myself with photos attached, I decided to go on and delete the photos from my phone. The message was in the process of being delivered. Therefore, it was now in Gmail's hands... right? Wrong. Bye-bye, photos! I learned my lesson. Do not delete any file from your phone while it is being sent as an attachment in an email. Lucky for me, the cows aren't moooooving. Haha ;) Before the first week of December, I'm bound to spot more of the cows. Each will be auctioned off on January 26, 2013 and I will most likely post more photos by then. If you're in the Triangle area, I challenge you to go check them out for yourself! Ciao!
